Katrina Furey, M.D. is a board-certified adult psychiatrist practicing in Guilford, Connecticut at Sound Psychiatry LLC. With a special interest in women’s mental health and reproductive psychiatry, she is one of the only psychiatrists in Connecticut offering psychotherapy, medication management, and expert consultation for women with depression, anxiety, premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD), perinatal mood and anxiety disorders (including OCD), birth trauma, and menopausal mood and anxiety disorders. Dr. Furey has been featured as a perinatal mental health expert on Connecticut’s WFSB Channel 3 news “Good Day at 9” and in print publications like CNN, Newsweek, and Yahoo News. Since August 2022, Dr. Furey has consulted for the state of Connecticut at Access Mental Health for Moms CT. In this role, she is one of four perinatal psychiatrists offering psychiatric expertise and consultation to medical providers across the state treating women for mental health and/or substance use conditions during pregnancy and up to one year after delivery.
